Beachcombing
Beachcomb and unwind at Tubby and Padman's within walking distance of white sandy beaches and pristine blue waters. Some of the beaches are Jubilee, Waterloo and Shouten beach. A short drive away Cressy, Spiky Kelvedon, Nine Mile beaches. Feel the sand crumble between your toes and slip through you fingers. Watch the sun set and sun rises over the craggy hazards. Listen to the sound of crashing waves as they roll into the beach.

Waterloo Point walk
For the bird watchers the Waterloo Point walk is a must watch the shearwater fly in from the sea into their burrows at dusk. Take a walk along Swansea's jetty. Once a very long jetty capable of receiving boats bringing produce to Swansea , now replaced by a smaller one constructed of recycled plastic milk bottles - the first of it's kind in Australia.

The Bark Mill Museum
The Bark Mill Museum is an award wining attraction. The Mill was the towns primary exporter of black wattle bark which provided for the tanning of leather. Recently re-displayed with sound effects and documentation. The museum stands on the original site and tells the story of the early settlers and whalers. Foodies Mecca
Swansea boasts an array of restaurants, eateries, café's, a tavern and wine bar. Fine dining The Banc, The Ebb, Piermont restaurants, scrumptious food and wine for the discerning traveller. There are many other restaurants: The Ugly Duck Out, View Point and the Waterloo Inn, an RSL club with delicious food to suit all budgets and palates. Kate's Berry Farm to tantalize your tastebuds, with a view unsurpassed.

  • C Simon: men's and ladies fashions. International labels.
  • Morris Store: Large range of Tasmanian souvenirs. Fishing and camping supplies for that day of fishing. Fishing spots are off the jetty or off the mouth of the Swan river.

Swansea History Room
Open to the public. Delve into the history of the early settlement of Swansea and her surrounds. Community Centre and Museum with historic memorabilia, oversized billiard table and local artefacts. Fashion from the 1800's and war exhibits.

Vineyards
The East Coast of Tasmania is proud to have many award winning vineyards most within a 20 minute radius of Tubby and Padman. Spring Vale is named for it's Gewürztraminer, Pinot and Chardonnay. Craigie Knowe a little further with Bordeaux varieties. Coombend one of the states largest plantings. Freycinet Vineyard for its sparkling.
